In this article, we’re celebrating the career of Henna Patel!

Henna, SEO Manager at WPR Agency, is an experienced SEO professional and has been working in the industry for just over 5 years. She has extensive all-around knowledge and really enjoys on-page optimization. In 2021 she joined a PR agency to lead the SEO team and work with new and existing clients to leverage their SEO service. A graduate in web development, Henna previously worked for an automotive software company. She thrives in a dynamic environment and loves how SEO is always evolving.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

IT Teacher.

What was your very first job?

Sales Associate at BHS.

How did you first discover digital marketing / your specific industry sector?

At university, I did a degree in web development and SEO was a small part of it.

Share a mistake you made or an event you regret from your career:

I once accidentally deleted a section of a website and was stressing so much but with the help of my colleagues, we managed to build it back to normal without the client noticing! 

Jumping in a time machine, what advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Be patient, aim high and try not to be afraid, taking risks is scary but it’s worth it, it’s the only way you’re going to learn and grow.

What industry skills do you wish you’d learned sooner and why?

Definitely social skills, I’ve always been scared to speak to people thinking I don’t know enough but I’ve learnt that everyone is on different levels in their career and has their own specialisms.

Who are you inspired by in the digital marketing industry?

Areej AbuAli, Aleyda Solis, Isaline Muelhauser, Brenda Malone, Ryan Jones & many more!

If you were to publish an autobiography in 20 years’ time, what would it be titled?

The Journey of a Girl from Sensitive to Strong.

What’s the one thing you want to be remembered for from your career, and why?

My generosity – one of my aims in my career has always been to help others be brilliant, especially women.

What subjects were you best at in school?

IT and English.
